HOLA!!!!!

I am back, once again! And an update is well overdue!

I was recently thinking about summer being over and fall/winter approaching. And a part of me was a little bit sad because I love summer: heat, flip-flops, long days, less rain, and did I say HEAT!!!! But, whether I want fall to come or not, it will come. I cannot control the seasons, they will come as surely as the sun will rise and set every day no matter what happens during that day.

Often in our spiritual life we are not excited about the season that God is bringing us into, it seems hard, or we don't fully understand it. But, God has a plan and he knows that we need fall and winter. And whether we want the colder seasons to come or not, they will come. And there is always the promise of spring around the corner and another summer. I do not believe that we would appreciate summer as much if it was always summer, but after a long, cold winter, we are pumped when summer arrives. The same is true in life, we appreciate the good times that much more after enduring through the challenging trials of life. And sometimes God just tells us to "hold on" because "this too shall pass" but in the meantime it will shape our character. Often when we pray we want God to come into alignment with our plans, but when we pray we should be surrendering our heart to his will and his plans!

I hope and pray that you are all doing well and getting excited about the fall and Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know I am! I am busy now, but there will be time to rest!!!!! Maybe I should let you know where I am working now. I am teaching Aqua Fit at 4 different gyms in Abbotsford, personal training, working in the weight room at Apollo, and launching a bootcamp at Apollo as well. So, if any of you are interested in coming out to Ultimate Bootcamp, let me know I would love to have you be a part of it!

ENDURE

Hola, Guten Tag, Hello!!!!!!!!!

I know, I know, 3 months is a long time to wait for an update!!!! Sorry! Life has been a little crazy busy (what's new, eh!) and our internet drives me crazy because it always freezes. These are my excuses for not updating sooner!

But, for real - for real, I titled todays post ENDURE because somtimes that's all it feels like we are doing in our race. We are in a time of waiting for direction so we are not making huge strides forward. And we go through trials that we do not understand. Sometimes learning how to endure is a painful lesson, but it is so valuable because that is what gives us strength and prepares us for the road and journey ahead. Waiting times help us grow and they teach us to trust in the Lord. Eagles are the only birds that do not avoid storms, but rather they face the storms head on and allow them to help them soar even higher. This is our calling! Our life is not about feeling comfortable or even happy all of the time, but it is about glorifying God in all that we do, even in the mundane of our daily lives!

So, whatever your race brings today, praise Jesus because he is the author and the perfector of your faith. And if we trust him with all that we have and don't lean on our understanding, he will straighten our paths. Endure, my friends because we have hope and all that you go through is an opportunity to say, "Jesus, I choose to praise you!" And on those days when you are not soaring, or even running, or able to walk, simply stand! Because God will lead you to the Rock that is higher than you are!

PERSEVERANCE

Hello Everyone,

I know, I am not great at the blogging thing yet. I am trying, but it's been awhile since I gave you an update! Sorry! God has been teaching me a lot in my race about perseverance and trust. I have learned throughout my life that God is a God of the impossible. When I see a situation that I cannot do, or that the world looks at and says, "that's impossible, " God says it's possible. I have been learning to trust God to run the race that he has called me to run, to put on my shoes everyday and train hard. It is not about what I can or cannot do, it is about my heart being open to allow God to do his work both in and through my life. When God sent the angel to Mary and told her that she a virgin whould be with child, God did the impossible. But, it wasn't about what Mary did, or Moses, or David, or Paul, they were simply God's vessels and he poured himself out through them. I know that some things that God has asked me to do, seem impossible, but with God by my side running the race with me, we will do it!

We serve an amazing God who will take care of our every need. When I feel like I don't have enough money to pay for things, I am reminded that I have all that I need for today and God will take care of my tomorrow. "Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible." When your race becomes tough and you feel like giving up, do not lose heart, but keep on persevering because God has an amazing plan and call on each one of our lives. We simply need to walk by faith:

Hey Everyone,

I've finally decided to start my own blog!!!!! Yes, its true, I am going to try and update this blog regularly so that all my friends and family can keep up with the latest happenings in my life. I am excited to share my journey with you...

I chose the title of this blog because I am currently training to run track competitively and through these experiences, God has taught me a lot in my spiritual life. We are all running a race and when life or training gets tough, we need to persevere because we are running for the prize. Running is my act of worship to God because when I run, I feel his pleasure. My hope is that through this blog I can encourage and challenge each one of you as you run your race. In the meantime, I will keep you posted on my race.
